Antiques and Explorers – As a member of this group, be prepared to travel throughout the state to visit festivals, quaint historic sites nestled in picturesque countrysides, plantations and state parks. Mountain hikes, river walks and antique malls are liberally interspersed for the avid walker. This group meets once per month and is an outstanding way to become acquainted with our new state.

Beginner Bridge 4 Fun – Fun bridge for beginners and rusty players. We have a lively group, with mixed skills all working to become better players in a fun-loving, non-stress environment. We are now playing on the 1^st and 3^rd Thursday from 12:30 – 3:30.

Book Club – Would you love to have an excuse to curl up with a book? Have a favorite you’d like to share with a group? Join us the 2^nd Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. for lively discussions of the book of the month. We read a wide variety including fiction, nonfiction and classics recommended by the members.

Canasta – Twice the fun! We are now playing the 2^nd and 4^th Mondays of every month. If you haven’t played with this group before, give us a try. We play from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. with lunch.

Coffees – Our monthly coffees offer opportunities build and nurture friendships in a social setting. Held in members’ homes, you will learn how to navigate greater Columbia and its newest subdivisions

Games Night – For food, fun, games and laughter, BYOB, and a hors d’oeuvre to share and dash over to the monthly hosts’ home. Singles and couples, all are welcome. This is a great way to get to know each other a little better and an opportunity for our spouses to join in the fun. Games Night meets one Saturday a month.

Gardening – We plan to meet every other month at someone’s home to help with landscaping ideas for that member’s yard. On alternate months, we will visit gardens, nurseries or invite speakers to meet with us.

Getaway Excursions – This is a new activity to include overnight trips to explore cities, sites, towns, entertainment, etc. that are usually too far away to see in one day. Anticipate a spring and fall trip.

Golf – Golf will meet several days each month. We will play either 9 or 18 holesat Char Wood, and other courses.

Happy Hour – At the home of one of our members, Happy Hour is usually held one Saturday each month. BYOB. Mixes and soft drinks will be provided. Bring an appetizer or a dessert to share. A wonderful way to relax and expand friendships.

Ladies Night Out – Usually we gather at one of the fine restaurants in the greater Columbia area one night each month.

Lunch and Movie – Enjoy lunch with friends and have a great time at the movies! We will meet at alternate sites to accommodate members throughout the greater Columbia area. The group meets in front of the theater at 11:30 a.m. on the designated day of the month, either at the Columbia Grande on Bower Parkway or Regal Sandhill on Tower Center Place, to choose a place for lunch and a movie.

Luncheons – Monthly meetings are held the 4^th Thursday at various restaurants with programs ranging from a fashion show in the fall to interesting and informative speakers. Special social functions throughout the year are planned for members and guests.

Mah Jongg – We are playing the 1st and 3rd Mondays of every month from 10am to 1pm. We go out to lunch afterwards.

Theater Group – The greater Columbia area offers a wide variety of theatrical entertainment. The co-chairs have explored the offerings and are putting together monthly adventures for us. Watch the newsletter for particulars on each month’s event. Attend with a group of new friends and spend time together afterwards for dessert and coffee.
