PRESIDENTS’ CORNER
Our lazy days of summer are coming to a close and the busy days of autumn will soon call us to more activity. Interest groups which have been on summer break will re-activate, and you will find that you have more choices of things to do with us. We are excited to report these happenings now…
New members continue to find and join us. We welcome and commend to your friendship: Luci Maxwell from Illinois, Tina Elliott who rejoined our numbers, and Nancy Clary from Greenwood, all of whom now live in Lexington; in addition we have Dina Richardson who lives in Blythewood. Check out their addresses and see if they are your neighbors!
Our Nominating Committee is at work in securing the 2011 slate of officer nominees. If you are called to a position, please say yes to the opportunity to serve this terrific organization. We guarantee that you’ll meet even more nice people that way.
E-mail Buddies are our friends. Do you have one? Do you need one?
Details on our Quilt Drawing have been delayed. Until the drawing on December 11th, the quilt will be on display at our Newcomers' Coffees and Luncheons. More information on the drawing will be forthcoming.
Donations to Harvest Hope continue to show your generosity! The product of the month for September is OATMEAL. Please bring that along with your accumulated plastic bags, water bottles, and egg cartons to any meeting during the month, and Charity Chair, Linda Windle, will deliver it to the food bank.
Our Holiday Gala Committee is at work with early plans for a festive and elegant evening. The date is set, the venue has been booked, a band engaged, and the menu is under consideration. We are on the way to another grand occasion, so mark your calendars for December 11th.
But for now, let’s enjoy the approaching autumn together. There is always someone who will be happy to explore a neighboring town, visit an interesting gallery, peek in a quaint shop, or chat over lunch with you. Make the call! Make a friend!
